About the Pal Recommendation System

What is a diagnostic recommendation?

Palworld has 288 Pals, each with unique work suitabilities, combat stats, and habitat level ranges. This tool runs a weighted scoring algorithm across your chosen purpose, stage, element, and activity schedule to surface the 3 Pals that best match your answers.

How the score is calculated

For base work, work level and work speed are weighted heavily. For combat, stats matching your chosen style (firepower, tank, or speed) are weighted, and for mounts, sprint riding speed is the primary driver. Element match, nocturnal preference, and how closely a Pal's habitat level matches your game stage all add bonus points.

How the Pal finder scores Pals

How to use it

  1. Pick your main purpose: base work, combat, mount or all-round.
  2. Pick your game stage and preferred element. For base work or combat, also pick the job or fighting style.
  3. Say whether you need a night-active Pal, and the top 3 Pals by score appear.

Scoring rules

The weights are this site's choice, not an official rating. The stats and work suitability they use come from the game data.

Stage: up to 30 points the better the Pal's habitat level range fits the chosen stage. Pals without habitat data get 10.

Element: +25 if the Pal has the chosen element, -40 if it does not.

Activity: choosing night gives nocturnal Pals +20 and others -15. Choosing day gives nocturnal Pals -10 and others +10.

Base work: the chosen job's suitability level times 20, plus work speed times 0.02. Pals that cannot do the job are removed.

Combat: firepower adds (ranged + melee attack) / 3, tank adds HP / 10 + defense / 5, speed adds ride sprint speed / 20 + run speed / 30. Mount adds ride sprint speed / 15 + run speed / 30, and all-round adds total suitability levels times 5 plus (ranged attack + HP) / 30.

Scoring example

Choosing base work with Handiwork, early game, and no preference for element or activity gives this top 3: Solenne (162 points), Selyne (142), Silvance (132).

Frequently asked questions

Is this an official rating?
No. It is a score from the game's stats and work suitability with the weights listed above.
Do the same answers always give the same result?
Yes. There is no randomness, so the same answers give the same 3 Pals. A game patch that changes the data can change the result.

FAQ

Is the recommendation always optimal?
The tool uses a scoring algorithm based on stats extracted from the game data. Passive skills, rank level, and current ownership are not factored in — treat the result as a starting point and check each Pal's detail page for the full picture.
What if I don't like the results?
Hit 'Start over' and try different choices. Setting the element or work type to 'Any' broadens the pool and often surfaces different recommendations.
