Pal Lab research tree

Every Pal Lab research laid out as a tree per work suitability. Effects, values, materials and work amounts are raw game data, and each effect sentence is the game's own wording.

The 9 work suitability trees

The Lab splits into one tree per work suitability. The scale of each tree differs wildly, so the bars are relative to the heaviest tree.

Work speed cap per work suitability

How much work speed rises once every research in that tree is done. The sentence is the game's own effect wording; the number adds up the values listed in that tree.

The game tables say nothing about how these effects stack. The totals here simply add up the listed values; whether the game multiplies or adds them is unverified.

Every other effect total

Everything except work speed. The same effect is counted separately when it targets a different work suitability or item type.

The game tables say nothing about how these effects stack. The totals here simply add up the listed values; whether the game multiplies or adds them is unverified.

Researches with identical names exist in several trees and their effects can differ — one identically named base Pal upgrade raises attack in one tree and defence in another. Every entry therefore states its tree, and no summary table groups researches by name alone.

Structures only research unlocks

These structures never appear in the technology tree until the matching research is finished. They are also the only researches that carry a dedicated description instead of a numeric effect.

Unlocked structures are listed by name only. This site does not yet carry material or performance data for structures, so they are not linked.

The player level needed to start a research is not in the research table. A level cap exists only for the 10 researches that unlock a technology, and only those 10 show a level here.

Material burden

The materials across all 168 researches, sorted by total amount needed, with the number of researches each one appears in listed alongside. What costs the most in total and what shows up in the most researches are not the same thing.

Research duration is not in the tables. Work amount is a unitless integer, and the real time depends on the suitability rank of the Pals you assign and on research speed effects, so it is not converted into minutes or hours.

Sources, and what is deliberately missing

What this page is based on, and what it does not answer. The items below are absent from the game data, so filling them in would be inventing them.

  • The game tables say nothing about how these effects stack. The totals here simply add up the listed values; whether the game multiplies or adds them is unverified.
  • Research duration is not in the tables. Work amount is a unitless integer, and the real time depends on the suitability rank of the Pals you assign and on research speed effects, so it is not converted into minutes or hours.
  • What bIsEssential means in game is not settled by the table. It matches neither 'has follow-up research' nor any single path. So it is not translated as 'required' — the raw field name is shown instead.
  • Each research also carries an AssignDefineId, but it appears nowhere outside this one table, so it cannot be linked to any Pal or structure. It is therefore not shown.
  • The player level needed to start a research is not in the research table. A level cap exists only for the 10 researches that unlock a technology, and only those 10 show a level here.
  • There is no research priority or recommended order in the game data. This page shows work amounts and effect values as they are; it does not nominate a research to take first.
  • Researches with identical names exist in several trees and their effects can differ — one identically named base Pal upgrade raises attack in one tree and defence in another. Every entry therefore states its tree, and no summary table groups researches by name alone.
  • Unlocked structures are listed by name only. This site does not yet carry material or performance data for structures, so they are not linked.
  • Work suitability rank and Lab trees are different things. Research never raises a Pal's suitability rank, and no rank figure appears anywhere on this page.
