Palworld v1.0.4 Patch — Data Changes
Here are the data changes in patch v1.0.4, released September 9, 2026. Every number below was verified by directly comparing the game data before and after the patch.
Pal stats — exactly one Pal out of 288 changed
Wispaw (Paldeck 50, Dark) had its Food stat cut from 6 to 2, so it eats far less per meal and is easier to keep at a base. Food values run from 1 to 9 across the roster, and 72 of 288 Pals sit at 2 or lower, so Wispaw now ranks among the cheapest Pals to feed.
Its other stats, including 85 HP, 100 Melee Attack and 95 Shot Attack, are untouched, and the other 287 Pals have no stat changes at all.
Four Pals got a wider spawn area
Each gained exactly two map cells. None lost any.
- Ragnahawk: 73 cells → 75
- Blazehowl: 36 cells → 38
- Jormuntide Ignis: 9 cells → 11
- Starryon: 122 cells → 124
Their spawn level ranges are unchanged.
Skills — five orb-type attacks now work up close
Five thrown attacks had their minimum range reduced. Maximum range and power are unchanged. They no longer whiff when an enemy closes in.
- Bubble Blast (Water, 80 power) — minimum range 10m → 4m
- Aqua Burst (Water, 200 power) — minimum range 10m → 2m
- Power Bomb (Neutral, 120 power) — minimum range 10m → 2m
- Fire Ball (Fire, 600 power) — minimum range 5m → 2m
- Nightmare Ball (Dark, 300 power) — minimum range 10m → 3m
Ranges are the game's internal values converted to meters. Fire Ball at 600 power dropping to a 2m minimum is the biggest practical change.
Two passive adjustments
The Rare passive's Defense +15% now targets the Pal itself instead of no target. The same passive's Shot Attack +15% and Craft Speed +20% already targeted the Pal itself, and only Defense had an empty target. The values themselves are unchanged.
The Mutant passive changed from triggering only while in your party to being always active. Its effects are unchanged.
- Rare: Defense +15% target changed from no target to the Pal itself
- Mutant: trigger changed from in your party to always active (HP regeneration +50%, 100% resistance to burn and poison, and Defense +25% are unchanged)
Two fishing baits gained an effect
High Quality Bait and Deluxe Bait each gained a line of description. Both now also slightly increase the amount of items obtained from fishing, and their existing effects remain.
- High Quality Bait: higher bite rate, now with a small increase in item yield
- Deluxe Bait: larger minigame bar, now with a small increase in item yield
- Simple Bait is unchanged
Two server settings added
The server settings list went from 120 options to 122.
- MaxBuildingLimitNumPerPlayer (default 0) — a per-player building cap that pairs with the existing guild-wide limit. Zero means no limit
- FishingDifficultyRate (default 1.0) — a multiplier for fishing difficulty
The official difficulty presets now carry a fishing difficulty too. Casual sits at 0.8 while Normal, Hard and Hardcore are all 1.0, so Casual is the only preset that makes fishing easier.
Renames
- 158 Pal Lab research names were reformatted. The trailing "Lv1" became "1" and some gained a word. Research effects and materials are unchanged
- Two English item names changed. The Dragon Skill Fruit "Comet" became "Comet Strike", and the disposable implant "Skymarcher" became "Sky Strider"
Unchanged
The following are identical before and after the patch.
- All 588 technology tree entries, including unlock level, point cost and materials
- Crafting recipes and item acquisition routes
- All 258 breeding combinations
- Item weight, price and stack values
- Skill power and cooldown, and passive effect values apart from the two noted above
- Stats, work suitabilities and partner skills for the other 287 Pals
All Paldeck, item, technology tree and guide data on this site has been updated to v1.0.4.
